Feb 25: Today we began talking about topic and theme. We read the short fable "The Ant and the Grasshopper" and watched two videos "Boundin'" and "Did You Know." We then discussed the topic and theme of each one. Feb 26: Today was a work day for the topic and theme skits being performed tomorrow. Feb 27: Today we presented our topic and theme skits then began work on possessive apostrophes Feb 28: We finished going over the rules of possessive apostrophes and completed a possessive apostrophe worksheet. March 1: NO SCHOOL!

Feb 18: PRESIDENT'S DAY--NO SCHOOL
Feb 19: Today we began working on suffixes. We learned the nine suffixes we need to know in class then we worked in partners on writing either a love letter or rejection letter using suffixes. Feb 20: Today we continued working on suffixes. We played a competitive review game and then worked on a suffix worksheet. Feb 21: Today we learned about commas in a series. We learned about the importance of punctuation then completed a worksheet. Feb 22: Today we took a quiz on commas and suffixes. Feb 11: Today we read an historical fictional account of a young girl who immigrated to the United States and came through Ellis Island.
Feb 12: Today we began working on the Ellis Island Narrative outline. Feb 13: Computer lab, typing Ellis Island Narrative Feb 14: Ellis Island Simulation Feb 15: Computer lab, typing Ellis Island Narrative Feb 4: Today we finished learning about prefixes. We worked on a prefix worksheet and created a prefix study guide.
